PRP Hair Restoration: Effectiveness & Working Process

Advancements in medical field has become a boon to the sufferers as in today’s world many impossible diseases are been treated successfully. In addition, the surgical procedures which were once very crude have been now tried in a minimally invasive way which reduced the morbidity and definitely shorten the recovery time.

Many new techniques have been invented that has been a breakthrough in the field of medicine. One such breakthrough is the development of PRP therapy that is not limited to a single branch of medicine but is used in many specialities. It has been largely beneficial to treat the injured joints muscles, tendon and ligament and in dental regenerative surgeries. Not only this, the PRP therapy is been very commonly practised these days in hair loss issue.

Every clinician offering the cosmetic services is performing the PRP therapy because of the simple and easy procedure and good outcomes. But it is definite that this therapy also demands the expertise to reflect successful outcomes for which the choice of suitably qualified surgeon is inevitable.

Let’s grab some information regarding PRP therapy and know the insight of the procedure.

What is PRP?

Talking about PRP, everyone is aware of the role of platelets that is a blood component and plays a vital role in natural healing and blood clotting mechanism. The Platelet rich plasma (PRP) is a platelet concentrate that is rich in growth factors that are released in the surroundings and provide a milieu rich for facilitation of the cellular growth and development. The favourable environment is provided to the cells facilitating the healing process. The PRP therapy is introduced in 1980s that is used in various fields of medicine as in injured tendons, ligaments, muscles and joints.

How is the PRP therapy used for hair loss?

PRP therapy is been used in the hair loss management and after the hair transplant therapy. The PRP therapy in hair loss is intended to facilitate the hair growth and minimize the progression of hair loss. The PRP therapy induces the blood circulation which increase the growth of the hair follicles. Therefore, for hair loss PRP hair restoration could be considered as a beneficial therapy and is been practised hugely. The procedure is definitely beneficial but still it cannot be considered as an alternative treatment modality of hair loss as is hair transplant.

The PRP therapy can be performed after the hair transplant procedure for the faster healing and faster hair growth. The PRP therapy enhance the environment of the surroundings and provide the favourable environment to the newly transplanted hair follicles. These newly transplanted hair grow at a faster speed and faster rate. PRP injection therapy has become hugely popular in India for the hair loss solution and after hair transplant. The cost of PRP therapy in India is very affordable and has been successful for which people are approaching it hugely.

Therefore, it is suggestive to consult a competent hair transplant surgeon to know the in and out of the procedure and choose it for the best hair transplant outcomes or treat the hair loss in its early stage.

Working process of PRP therapy

The PRP therapy is processed in certain steps explained as follows:

The PRP is prepared from your own blood after drawing it from the arm and processing it to receive the high platelet concentrated preparation.

Step 1 of preparation: The drawn blood from the arm is collected in a test tube and is kept in the centrifugation machine for the separation of the different component as per the molecular weight. The centrifugation machine is run at 3000 rpm for 10 min.

Step 2 of preparation: Once segregation is over 3 layers are observed which are enumerated as follows:

a) Top most layer: platelet poor plasma

b) Middle layer: platelet rich plasma

c) Last layer: red blood cells

Step 3 of preparation: The PRP is then collected in a syringe and then injected at the desired area.

PRP therapy associated complications:

There is no chance of communicable disease or risk associated with PRP therapy as it involves the use of your own blood. But still few mild complications could be associated with PRP therapy including:

· Superficial Injury to blood vessels or nerves

· Mild to severe infection at the injection site

· Scarring

But you want a safe and complication free PRP therapy then you need to look for an expert and experienced doctor.

Effectiveness of PRP therapy

Many original researches are been enlisted on the effectiveness of the PRP therapy and the theoretical evidences support the use of PRP for the management of hair loss at an early phase and also after the hair transplant for fasted healing and hair growth. The concentration of platelets is the most crucial factor deciding the efficacy of the PRP therapy which is often overlooked by the sub-qualified surgeons.

At Medispa hair transplant clinic in India, we ensure the dual centrifugation of the blood for the confirmed higher concentration of the platelets. Dr Suneet Soni emphasise on checking the concentration of the platelets before injecting it using the auto analyser. This help us in delivering the 100% successful results and patient satisfaction. Therefore, if you are in search of an excellent PRP therapy then Medispa hair transplant clinic is the place to go in Jaipur and Delhi. Feel free to book an appointment with us now.
